I believe that good design is not embodied in a specific design style. Good design is the careful consideration of scale and proportion; the study of light and color. It tells of the old while embracing the new. It reflects a life, YOUR life. And every interior space, just like every life, should be one of a kind.
After graduating from the University of Tennessee's Interior Design program in 2004 I began my career in my hometown, Nashville, with Gresham Smith and Partners in their commercial interiors department, while there passing both the NCIDQ and LEED exams. I moved to Memphis in 2006 where I joined Hnedak Bobo Group and spent the following three years designing large hotel and restaurant projects across the country. In 2009 my husband and I relocated to Boston. I began working as an independent contractor and accepted a teaching position at the Boston Architectural College. In the spring of 2010 I opened Sabbe Interior Design.
Although trained and originally licensed in Tennessee, I say New England is where I truly became a designer. Working on everything from historic brownstones to cedar clad capes, I was immersed in historic design like I had never previously known. Since moving home to Nashville in 2015 I have worked to bring that level of historic detail, charm and originality into each and every one of my projects.
